T.J. Watt, Deshaun Watson and Bobby Portis all react on Twitter to J.J. Watt's announcement that he is leaving Houston

T.J. Watt and Derek Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers and J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans talk after Pittsburgh's 28-21 win on Sept. 27, 2020, at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. It was only the third time ever that three brothers have played in the same NFL game. With J.J. announcing on Friday that he and the Texans are parting ways after 10 years, could a reunion in Pittsburgh be in store for the Watt brothers?

So now that J.J. Watt and the Houston Texans' 10-year relationship has ended, where will the future Hall of Famer continue and possibly finish his career?

It didn't take long for "Green Bay" to begin trending on Twitter.

Many fans haven't gotten over the fact that the Packers traded out of the first round during the 2017 NFL draft — passing on the opportunity to select Watt’s younger brother, T.J., who has become an All Pro linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers and has been a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year the last two seasons (he finished second this year and third in 2019).

Now that Watt, who turns 32 in March, is in the market for a new team after he announced on Friday that he asked for his release from Houston could Green Bay be in the mix to land the oldest Watt?

COLUMN:The Packers should make a run at signing J.J. Watt

Watt, of course, grew up a Packers fan as a Pewaukee native and then played for the hometown Wisconsin Badgers in college. He has a home in Waukesha County and trains in the offseason with his brothers at NX Level in Waukesha.

A CBS Sports story lists five potential landing spots for Watt, with Green Bay coming in at No. 4 on reporter Jeff Kerr's list. Four of the five were playoff teams last season, including the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which signed many older players to short-term contracts last offseason to play with Tom Brady in his first year.

The Packers, ranked 10th in sacks and 13th in the run in 2020, will have a new defensive coordinator in charge in 2021 after parting ways with Mike Pettine this offseason. Watt played in all 16 games in 2020, a season in which he produced five sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception that he returned for a touchdown in a Texans win on Thanksgiving. In three of the last five years, he suffered significant injuries that cut his seasons short.

No. 1 on his Kerr's list might be the most intriguing: the Pittsburgh Steelers. That, of course, is the team that his younger brothers, T.J. and Derek, play for. Derek signed in the offseason last year, making it the third time the middle and youngest Watts have played together (they also played at Pewaukee and Wisconsin). But Watt has never played with his brothers before.

In Pittsburgh, Watt would also join a contender, something he no doubt will seek to do when picking his next destination. In 2020, with the 26-year-old T.J. leading the way, the Steelers had the NFL's third-ranked scoring defense and won the AFC North before being upset in the wild-card round.

Here's some of the other reaction on Twitter, including from Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis.

And with Valentine's Day coming up, Watt would be a perfect match for the Packers, according to this tweet.

There's The Rock again. And yes, this would be epic.

One account mentioned that a move to Green Bay would bring J.J. closer to his wife, Kealia, who plays for the Chicago Red Stars women's professional soccer club. She was traded there from the Houston Dash in January 2020.

Here's a fun one that played off The Weeknd's halftime show at Sunday's Super Bowl.

One person went back to the 1990s when the Packers signed another defensive legend at yes, 32 years old. Reggie White played six seasons with Green Bay, including in two Super Bowls.

Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has also been the subject of trade rumors after a 4-12 season, gave his former teammate a heartfelt tribute.
