Former Packers QB Brett Favre sued over failed Sqor Sports social media site

Investors say Brett Favre and partners misled them about Sqor Sports social media venture and they want their $16 million back.

As reported by The Blast, Callais Capital Management of Thibodaux, La., sued the former Green Bay Packers quarterback and his partners in Sqor Sports for $16.75 million plus damages. The lawsuit alleges Favre and his partners provided misleading information about key metrics, including how much money they raised, how many followers Sqor had, how fast it was growing and which teams and high-profile athletes would use the service.

Sqor was promoted as a way to connect fans with professional athletes and as a way for athletes to make money from their brands.The Sqor.com website no longer is operative.

Favre promoted the website and joined Sqor's board of directors in 2013. According to court documents quoted by The Blast, Favre "received benefits from Sqor in the form of equity, athlete payments and private jet costs, among other things."

Favre has not responded to requests for comment. 

The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback also played for the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings during a 20-year career, during which he was named NFL MVP three times and led the Packers to two Super Bowls, winning one.
