GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers are down to just two inside linebackers from last season’s 53-man roster.

Green Bay Packers inside linebacker Joe Thomas (48) breaks up a pass intended for Chicago Bears wide receiver Josh Bellamy (15) Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

Joe Thomas, who played on the Packers' active roster the past three seasons, signed a two-year deal Wednesday with the Dallas Cowboys, his agent, Brian Anderson, confirmed.

Thomas’ departure leaves just Blake Martinez and Jake Ryan on the Packers' inside linebacker depth chart. The Packers also have practice-squad holdovers David Talley and Ahmad Thomas on their 90-man offseason roster.

Thomas led Packers linebackers with 632 snaps in 2016, but his playing time dwindled to 104 snaps last season. The Packers did not tender Thomas, a restricted free agent, this offseason.

Thomas previously spent a short stint on the Cowboys' practice squad in 2015. The Packers signed him to their active roster early that season.
