Loss? What loss? Packers tickets continue to rise in secondary market

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers' dismal performance in Los Angeles last weekend did not dampen secondary market ticket prices.

The average lowest price for six of the Packers' seven remaining games is from $1 to $20 more per ticket than last week. Only the game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey is lower — by $1.

At an average lowest price of $162, Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field is $8 more expensive than last week . Besides being a good matchup between two of the better teams in the NFC, the game is at 3:25 p.m (although originally scheduled at noon), and is the first Green Package game in a month at Lambeau Field. And it is the last time the Packers will play at Lambeau for another four weeks.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (33) breaks into the secondary on a run up the middle against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 17, 2017, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

The best bargain at home is the Washington Redskins game. The average lowest price, at $106, is below face value for Lambeau's least expensive seats. On the road, the New York Giants game on Dec. 1 at $123 and the Detroit Lions game on Dec. 29 at $66 are the best bets.

Tickets for the games against the two best teams on the schedule, the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 24 and Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 23, are the most expensive, but neither comes close to the cost of tickets for last weekend's game in Los Angeles. The 49ers game is $20 more expensive than last week, at $226 average lowest price, and the Vikings $10 more expensive, at $230.

Incidentally, the Packers are on pace for overall regular-season attendance of 622,576, nearly even with last year, but the lowest it's been in seven years — since the south end zone expansion in 2013 added 7,000 seats to the stadium. The high point was 627,308 fans in 2015. The difference between 2015 and 2019 is 625 people per game, or less than 1 percent.

For our weekly look at Packers' tickets prices, we average the lowest ticket prices at eight secondary-market websites: Event USA, Green Bay Ticket Service, NFL ExchangeStubHub, TickPick, Ticket KingSeatGeek and Vivid Seats. Note that ticket brokers can add fees on top of prices listed here, so actual costs might be higher.
