Jordan Love is a California kid but he's loving the vibe that Green Bay offers.

"Green Bay's a great place," Love told Dan Patrick of "The Dan Patrick Show" last week ahead of Super Bowl LVIII as he reminisced about the season.

The Packers' laid-back quarterback, who just wrapped up a successful first year as the starter, hit the media circuit prior to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. A topic of conversation during the 25-year-old's interviews, in addition to what he learned from Aaron Rodgers and the turning points for him and the team, is his impression of Green Bay.

Jordan Love recognizes the fans at Lambeau Field after leading the Packers to a huge 18-17 comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 24. The Packers trailed 17-0 entering the fourth quarter.

All the attention is on Jordan Love these days now as the Packers starting quarterback

Love has been in Wisconsin now for nearly four years since the Packers moved up in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft to select him with the 26th overall pick.

As the backup for three years, Love didn't get much attention locally or nationally. But this past year he became the guy in Green Bay, the smallest market by far in the NFL and a franchise with no owner and a season-ticket waiting list of over 140,000. It's a place where we all help each other out, especially during snowstorms. And Love is fitting right in.

Love said he's getting noticed "everywhere" and while that may make him a bit uncomfortable he's embracing his new stature here. Love, after all, understands the rule: "In Green Bay, everybody's a Packer fan."

"You go to the store, somebody recognizes you," said Love, adding that even when he arrived here during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic while wearing a mask in public "people still recognize you."

Jordan Love says Packers fans are the 'best'

Love was showered with praise by the fan base as he led the team to the playoffs in his first year taking over for Rodgers, the four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer.

Now, Love is giving back the love to whom he called the best fan base. Remember, the Packers do have the recently minted NFL fan of the year.

"Packer fans are great," Love said in another interview with Mackenzie Salmon of USA TODAY Sports. "They love all the Packer players. Everything we do. They're a great fan base."

What makes them such a great fan base?

"They're diehards," Love said. "They're out there (in) freezing cold games with their shirts off, going crazy. They bring a lot of energy and excitement. ... They live for the Packers. So, I've really never seen a fan base like that. Obviously, there's some other great fan bases. I think we got the best out there."

Where would Jordan Love spend a wild Friday night: Green Bay or Utah State?

Love spent his college days in Logan, Utah, at Utah State. How does that city compare to Green Bay for a Friday night out?

Love chose Logan. To be fair, he experienced that city while he was in college. "I mean, Utah, I'm in college," Love reminded Yahoo Sports' Jason Fitz. "College life is a little different. It's still college. I'm definitely going Utah."

Worry not, Packers fans, who love a good polka. Love added that while "Green Bay is small, they know how to have a good time out there as well."

And something that every Packers fan wants to hear their franchise quarterback say: "I can't be living like I was in college."
