Clubhouse Live replay: Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, John Kuhn raise money for House of Hope

When Aaron Rodgers made a guest appearance on Clubhouse Live in 2012, the demand for seats was more than the capacity would allow at The Clubhouse Sports Pub & Grill in downtown Appleton.

So when the Green Bay Packers quarterback agreed to visit the show again two years later, we thought it would be wise to move it to a larger venue.

Good decision.

Nearly 650 fired-up fans — many clad in their favorite green and gold ensembles — filled the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley’s Grand Ballroom on Dec. 1, 2014, in Appleton to salute the future Hall of Fame signal caller, celebrate Packers football and raise money for House of Hope, an emergency shelter for young parents and their children.

The Green Bay-based shelter was supported by then-Packers fullback John Kuhn and his wife, Lindsey. Kuhn was Clubhouse Live’s co-host during the 2013 and ’14 seasons.

To say the show was a success would be a massive understatement.

Rodgers’ appearance helped raise more than $32,000 for House of Hope through a ticket sale and a silent auction.

That the Packers were also coming off a 26-21 victory over the New England Patriots at Lambeau Field — a game that saw Rodgers throw for 368 yards and two touchdowns — only added to a raucous atmosphere.

The award-winning Clubhouse Live is produced by USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin and held Mondays at 6:30 p.m. during the Packers’ season. The show, which is still held at The Clubhouse Sports Pub & Grill, is hosted by a current Packers player, who brings a teammate as his weekly guest.
