Aaron Rodgers, Larry the Cable Guy catch up at celebrity golf tournament in Pebble Beach

Aaron Rodgers and Larry the Cable Guy have been known to cross paths on the celebrity golf tournament circuit, and it happened again on Thursday.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback is golfing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California. So is the "Git-R-Done" comedian. Larry shared a photo on Twitter of the two of them.

The star-studded tournament is an annual outing for both. Rodgers, who had partnered with Madison native and PGA Tour winner Jerry Kelly six of the last seven years at the tournament, is golfing with PGA Tour pro Max Homa this year. They're paired with Charley Hoffman and "NCIS: Los Angeles" actor Chris O'Donnell.

In an interview with the Press-Gazette in November, Larry, whose real name is Dan Whitney, said he's become friends with Rodgers after the two often run into each other at the Pro-Am and at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Not the kind of buddies who hang out, Whitney said, but two guys who have a nice 10-minute conversation whenever they see each other.

“He’s awesome,” Whitney said. “... By the way, Aaron’s funny. We always riff a joke off each other. He’s a funny guy. He has a good sense of humor. That’s why we get along.”

Other celebrities and star athletes playing in the tournament through Sunday include Tony Romo, Bill Murray, Peyton Manning, Huey Lewis, Steve Young, Ray Romano, Wayne Gretzky, Toby Keith, Larry Fitzgerald, Josh Duhamel, Macklemore, Eli Manning and Jake Owen.

A story this week on The Caddie Network recounts how at the 2019 tournament Rodgers invited South Korean golfer Ho Sung Choi and his family over to the house he rented with his crew and their significant others. After Choi’s kids sang Korean songs with everybody around the fire pit, Rodgers played the Darius Rucker hit "Wagon Wheel" on guitar.

Rodgers told Justin Vernon of Grammy-winning Eau Claire band Bon Iver during a GQ Sports "One on One" episode last year that he plays a little six-string guitar and has been known to do that song for select audiences.
